It is fair to say that most people reading this blog have seen at least once those Did-you-know-typish videos, with startling info, cool images and compelling music. Everytime I watch one, I’m always drawn to (and amazed) by most messages conveyed and reflect on the impact (or still lack of…) on schools and teaching/learning. I have collected some clips on my VodPod account, but by far and large, I find them via Twitter (my main « RSS feed »), Bloglines (my other RSS feed), and save/share the good links in Delicious.
This morning, I find another one, but wow! does this one strike a chord!
Explaining Social Media to others: have we not had a least one « what-the-heck-are-you-doing-losing-time-that-way » look when we try to explain something like Twitter?? « It’s just a trend, it’ll pass ». But I can at least now lead them to this clip, found on Karl Fisch’s blog…
Love the line at 3:40 –> « Social Media isn’t a fad, it’s a fundamental shift in the way we communicate. »
Enough said, here it is. Enjoy! BTW, there’s a small typo in the opening images. In French, it’s Bienvenue, not Bienvenu. (*my teacher reflex acting up, here* 🙂
